These two-player titles suit someone sitting right beside you, and online matchmaking plays no part. A few run on one keyboard, each person using a separate group of keys; others mean handing a phone to each other or switching turns. Either way, the core is unchanged: you and whoever happens to be nearby, nobody to wait on and no strangers to be paired with.
Nerve and fast reflexes both count here. In the sports titles, quick reactions decide a lot; in the board titles, guessing your rival's next move decides a lot; and keeping calm tends to be what saves the match. If you both enjoy shooting and blocking, Basketball Stars is the most reliable choice. Master Chess suits the patient type who plans two moves ahead, while Soccer Random is the pick when laughing at physics beats playing seriously.
A typical round lasts only a few minutes, so these work well on a bus ride or in the gap between classes.
